We know a lot of you get questions about how to find cheap or free books for Kindles.  Recently we have discovered two resources that bring lists of free or cheap eBooks for Kindles to you.    You can find free or cheap books directly from the Amazon site, but sometimes you have to dig a little to find a book you may want.   These sites help take some of the leg work out of finding these books.

The first one is Pixel of InkPixel of Ink has a blog  and also has a Facebook Page.   They post free or cheap books several times a day.  You can also sign up to be emailed these lists.    Here’s more information their website:

Pixel of Ink features daily publishing of Free Kindle Books and Hot Deals.

On any given day, there are thousands of Free Kindle Books available. Each day there are hundreds of newly free Kindle Books that we sort through to bring you what you want – the best of the bunch!

In addition to Free Books, we also share some really Hot Deals, so be sure to watch for those too!

Here’s what you will find on Pixel of Ink:

Several of our libraries use this site to get content on their library Kindles so there is content on the devices when they demo them.

Another similar site is Zero Dollar Books now called Hundred Zeros.   Hundred Zeros is a webapp that compiles a list of free books that is updated hourly. It is easy to browse since it just shows the cover of the book along with the title and author(s). Clicking on the cover art will take you to an Amazon page where you can get the book.  Through this site you can also receive free book alerts through Twitter or Facebook or subscribe to their RSS Feed.

These books may not be best sellers, but every once in awhile readers will discover a new author they like or will stumble upon a best selller that is being offered for free or a cheap price for a limited time.   Often times a book that is listed as free or cheap may only be kept at that price for awhile, it’s always good to act fast and double check the price before actually purchasing.
